Director: Lisa O’Sullivan

Lisa started her dance training at the age of 3.  She has been trained in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Tap and Jazz.  During high school she was also a State Level Competitive Gymnast.  She was a Junior and Senior Company dancer at the Ruth Mitchell Dance Company until leaving for college.  During her training as a Company dancer she performed in numerous productions at the Alliance Theatre in the Woodruff Arts Center.  She trained with Ron Colton from the Augusta Ballet and Carol Paulk as well as many years of training with Ruth Mitchell herself. Lisa earned a degree in Economics from The University of Georgia.  She is married with 3 boys, ages 21, 18 and 10.  Lisa started teaching dance to pre-schoolers 13 years ago with Teaching Little Children in Marietta pre-schools and day care centers.  She started The Spirit of Dance in 2004 at McEachern United Methodist Church and added First United Methodist of Marietta in 2005.  Lisa has a true gift of teaching little ones the art of dance in a way that is motivating and fun.  She is always striving to make herself and her staff the best possible teachers that they can be, by attending Dance Teacher Conferences throughout the year, such as the “Leap n Learn” early childhood dance workshop in Louisiana that she just attended in July 2007.   Lisa’s love and enthusiasm for dance is apparent in her classroom. 

Lead Teacher: Tammy Anthony

Tammy has been dancing since the age of 3.  She has 25 years of dance experience and has been teaching for 7 of those years.  She has been trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop.  Tammy started her dance training in Alabama, where she was a competitive dancer for 6 years, focusing in Tap. She was a Company dancer at Bobbie’s School of Dance in Alabama, performing in various fine arts events during her training.  While in high school, she was captain and choreographer for her dance team, winning awards for Best Choreography and Overall Star Dancer.   In college, she was a member of the University of North Alabama’s dance team, while earning her degree in Marketing.  After having 2 daughters, she began teaching for Lisa at The Spirit of Dance.  Tammy’s love for dance and children are apparent in her classroom.  Her goal as a teacher is to share her training, knowledge and her love of dance with all of her students.
